The NYC Department of Education wants to put a charter school in PS 15 in Red Hook. This decision has been made in spite of protests from the school, community & parents, & the potential impact on PS15 could be incredibly negative. This blog presents information on the situation to the community to open a dialogue about the situation to resolve it successfully. This article is GREAT! It echoes what Mr. van Linden Tol said in an earlier post to this blog, but goes into even more detail and depth on many of the same topics.
By the way, I think the whole blog is a terrific compilation of material showing why the promotion of Charter Schools really is a mess - and why the DOE as it is today definitely does not serve the best interests of schoolchildren and families in NYC. Keep up the good work, and best of luck with a protest!
